Cascades d'Ouzoud

A succession of panoramas on the waterfall, immense and majestic The waterfalls of Ouzoud

Born from the convergence of several streams, Ouzoud rushes more than 100 m high at the bottom of a green chasm lined with calcareous concretions and climbing plants. The mist escaping from the jump of water on the rocks creates a rainbow almost permanent. The roaring of the waterfall, the boiling of the water in the bottom of the “giant’s pots” hollowed by erosion, the exuberance of the vegetation, all combine to compose a romantic and mesmerizing spectacle.
A path of dirt, in places nicks steps, allows to go down along the waterfall, above the last: pot in which flows the torrent. Going up the river, there are flour mills in small rectangular mud houses. Stone wheels powered by the force of water crush the grain. In the carob trees that shade this site, macaque monkeys with beige hair and black-eyed eyes are frolicking.
